Industrial IoT and edge for machine builders
Your machines at customer sites. Always up to date, always in view.
We connect your machines to a platform: updates arrive remotely, and you see state and faults in the browser. CFE-Computing GmbH from Eferding, Austria, builds and runs this for manufacturers of machines, plants and connected devices.
How it works
From the machine to your service team’s tablet
At the machine
A small industrial device in the control cabinet reads the controller and keeps working without internet.
On the platform
Data, device list and updates in one place, run on servers in the EU.
With your people
Service, engineering and your customers see state and faults on a tablet or in the browser.
We handle everything above the controller. The PLC program stays with your engineers or our automation partner.
Before and after
What changes for you
Today: Updates need a site visit.
With us: Updates arrive remotely, and you see which version runs on which device.
Today: The data stays in the controller.
With us: Service and engineering see state and faults in the browser.
Today: The pilot runs on a single machine.
With us: The solution grows with every machine you ship.
Today: The cloud bill grows with every plant.
With us: Operations run on EU infrastructure, without lock-in to a hyperscaler.
Today: The Cyber Resilience Act requires updates for years.
With us: Software bill of materials, vulnerability scanning and the update path run along technically.
Services
Five services, individually or as a whole
If you take several, the interfaces between them are our job too.
- Updates without a site visitEdge devices and OTA updates for machines in the fieldEmbedded Linux and containers on the device at the machine, offline-capable, with over-the-air updates across the whole fleet.
- Meet security obligations technicallyUpdates and SBOM for the Cyber Resilience ActA software bill of materials from the pipeline, continuous vulnerability scans and security updates rolled out for the whole support period.
- Put machine data to useReading machine data with OPC UA and MQTTOPC UA and MQTT from the controller, through a message broker into time-series databases, dashboards and interfaces to your systems.
- Operations in the EUCloud exit and IoT operations in the EUMonitoring, logs and alerts for devices and platform, operations on EU infrastructure and moving out of the hyperscaler cloud.
- Operation on tablet and browserOperator apps and Angular migrationOffline-capable operator app on the tablet, web interfaces and dashboards for service teams and end customers, migration of old Angular apps.
Cyber Resilience Act
Security updates become mandatory
Manufacturers of connected products must handle vulnerabilities and ship security updates, as a rule for at least five years. That takes an update path down to the device, a bill of materials for every software version and continuous vulnerability scanning.
We build and run that technology. Whether your product complies is for your legal and standards experts to assess.

Case study
BLUECTRL: an edge platform for modular recycling plants
BLUECTRL is the control and data platform of BLUELINE / Linetechnology GmbH. Since 2024, Thomas Deutsch has led architecture, development and operations there. CFE-Computing GmbH supports operations as an external partner.

“No architecture that only works on slides.”
We run what we design
The person who designs the architecture writes the code and runs it afterwards. Design flaws show up early.
We understand the layer below
We do not program PLCs or firmware, but we know that layer from our own work and talk to your PLC and firmware engineers as peers.
Open tools, your code
We build with widely used open-source tools and sell no platform licence. Code and configuration live in your repository.
Team
Two founders who build it themselves
You talk directly to the people who build your system. CFE stands for cloud, fog and edge: the three layers your software runs on.
- Location
- Eferding, Upper Austria
- Working mode
